There is plenty of free parking on-site. See the location page to find us. We open up around 5:30pm for setting up and the demonstration starts at 6:30. We have a 1/2 hour tea break around 7:30. The demonstration ends at 9:30 and we must be out by 10.
The club's demonstration lathe is a 750W (1 hp) Axminster 1416 lathe. The maximum diameter over the bed is 14 inches. The maximum length is 16 inches, reduced by the size of drives or chucks. A bed extension is available if requested in advance. The lathe has a M33 x 3.5 headstock thread and 2MT both ends.
We can provide a Nova chuck with standard Nova dovetail jaws or an Axminster SK100 chuck with A-jaws.
Demonstrators are expected to provide their own tools.
We use 2 cameras, one overhead and one at the tailstock end of the lathe. We do not use a sound system, so please speak up! An extractor is provided.
